Montlavo Systems uses wiki technology to manage critical tasks and processes in an intensive R&D environment.
Montalvo Systems is a fabless semiconductor startup funded by prominent Silicon Valley venture capital firms.
The Challenge
Montalvo Systems is engaged in cutting edge research and development efforts in the semiconductor industry that require continuous management and follow-up on a myriad of critical project tasks and activities.
The Solution
Montalvo's management selected JotSpot's wiki platform (subsequently acquired by Google) to build a secure, collaborative environment to create and manage project tasks and the processes around these tasks. They hired CommunityXperts™, a JotSpot certified solutions partner, to develop a flexible wiki application that supported their project task and process requirements.
Tasks can be created as individual tasks or associated with critical business processes. Tasks can be created quickly and easily. Open tasks are closely tracked making them visible to all concerned parties through completion. The various participants associated with a task are notified immediately when the task is created and when it is completed. In addition, interim notifications on open tasks can be sent to selected participants on a weekly basis, prior to the scheduled due date, and when a task becomes overdue.
The Benefits
The Montalvo team has clear visibility on the status of critical tasks and processes across the organization.
Collaborative and document management functionality are integrated with the task and process Management capabilities.
This has resulted in improved productivity and higher on-time completion of processes and tasks.
